If you wish to have surgery, our practice requires a preoperative evaluation and physical examination for your safety and well-being. During your initial appointment, your surgeon will discuss the treatment options and offer plenty of opportunities for you to ask questions. You will return for surgery on a later day.
One way you can ensure a smooth evaluation is to provide us with the following information:
- (If applicable) your surgical referral slip and any X-rays
- A current list of any medications you take
- Any other information about your medical history
Additionally, let us know in advance of your appointment if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery. Common examples include diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.
We strive to provide prompt surgery and meet your needs whenever possible.
